I ordered an Arnold Palmer, and again, no stopping by to ask about refills, just the quick visit after serving our dishes -- when our drinks were still fairly full. Had lunch here last week, and was impressed by the menu and the setting. Wife had the short ribs and they were well prepared and well presented.

Food was good on the first visit, but service was very slow. The owners of Hoppe’s Garden Bistro in Cayucos are closing the restaurant and bakery after more than 20 years in business to spend more times with their family and … I'd originally reserved a room inside for 15 people, but that morning had to call and add three more. Service was very polite but the kitchen takes a while to turn things out. One suggestion was the service - nice greetings, and wait assistant brought water immediately - never to be seen again. I'm very glad this venue has re-opened; it's a beautiful setting. Setting was nice in the sunny patio behind. The restaurant, known for its stunning gardens, has been one of the most highly acclaimed restaurants in San Luis Obispo County.
